Work Experience

Madelyn is employed at the Internal Revenue Service in Austin, Texas. She is currently employed as an Information Technology Supervisor. Madelyn has over 20 years of Federal Government experience in wide range of departments. Her experience includes Human Resources, Finance, Asset Management, Information Technology, and Project Management. She has also worked on several local, regional and national projects impacting a vast number of large and small scale systems.

Community Involvement

Madelyn is very active in her local community. She serves as the New Lincoln Baptist Church Youth Musician. She also serves as the Youth Musician for the St. John's Regular Baptist District Association and works with the Austin Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America as a Youth Director. She is also in other community outreach groups such as the Greater East Austin Youth Foundation, StandUpForKids; ASPIRE Higher, Inc.; and has served on the Paredes Middle School Campus Advisory Council. She serves as the Austin Area Miss & Little Miss Juneteenth Pageant Coordinator and volunteers with the Prom Shop Project that provides FREE prom dresses to young ladies.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Madelyn currently possesses an Associate Certificate in IT Project Management from George Washington University and received a Master's Certificate. She possesses excellent leadership qualities that have been demonstrated throughout her career and in her personal life. Business process design and analysis is something that Madelyn enjoys and continues to sharpen her skills. She is currently pursuing a Master's Certificate in Business Process Analysis from George Washington University. This will allow her to continue to enhance existing skills and also apply new processes.

Madelyn is also an experienced applications developer, systems administrator, and hardware technician. She has skills in writing scripts, Oracle and SQL database, and html code. During the 20 plus years at IRS, she has had the opportunity to work in very technical arenas. She also worked in Washington, DC for 3 ½ on a special national project to implement a new Asset Management System for the IRS. Her specific roles included business process analysis, design and implementation, software migration, help desk administration and oversight, and she served as a subject-matter expert. She currently serves as an Information Technology Supervisor managing an extremely complex and critical infrastructure and highly visible projects.
